Priority Waste’s Municipal Yard Debris Collection Service delivers the convenience and personal attention of single-customer residential pickup with the operational efficiency of a centralized municipal contract. When your town partners with Priority Waste, every household within the municipal boundary is covered under one agreement — one schedule, one set of stipulations, one route. This model works for towns that want consistent, professional yard debris collection without managing individual resident accounts. The town office handles the contract; we handle the route.

Stipulations of Service:

All Yard Debris should be placed at curb night before scheduled service day, in the following approved manner — (1) Approved Rollaway Cart (provided by Brush Bandit at a cost), (up to) (15) Biodegradable Bags or (up to) (4) Tied Bundles (max. 4′ long & 24″ circumference). Any reasonable combination is acceptable.

In the event of a significant wind event, which generates more than the average collection service plan covers, service schedules may have to be adjusted and/or additional cost may apply. Any change in service schedule or cost, due to such an event, will be communicated prior to pick up.

Municipal accounts are centrally managed and contracted by your local government office. If your Municipality is not listed as one of our Areas of Service, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss how we may assist you in obtaining this service for your area.

How Municipal Service Works

Contract Structure

Priority Waste contracts directly with the town or municipal authority. The municipality is the customer of record. All terms, pricing, and route information are negotiated with the town office.

Coverage

All residents within the municipal service area are included under the town's agreement. Individual residents do not need to sign up separately; service is automatic for any property within the contracted boundary.

Stipulations

Each municipal contract specifies how yard debris should be presented at the curb — approved receptacles, bag types, bundle dimensions, and weight or volume limits. Those details appear on the per-town section below once you select your community from the dropdown.

Schedule

Each town has a published pickup day or days. Most coastal NC municipalities run weekly service on a fixed weekday. Storm events or holidays may shift the schedule — any change is communicated through the town office in advance.

What's Included

Standard municipal collection covers vegetative debris placed at the curb in the approved manner:

  • Leaves, grass clippings, and weeds
  • Trimmings and small branches
  • Pine straw
  • Shrubbery and tree clippings
  • Any vegetative debris that fits the contract’s approved receptacle, bag, or bundle specifications

What’s not covered: Yard waste service does not include dirt, sand, stumps, plant pots, rocks, compost, landscaping timbers, construction debris, household garbage, painted or treated lumber, or other non-vegetative material. For those items, Priority Waste offers roll-off dumpster rental, junk removal, and debris removal as separate services.

Why Towns Choose Priority Waste

Local Operations

Priority Waste runs from a Southport office with crews on the road across Brunswick County every day. Your route is staffed by people who know the territory.

Reliable Schedule

Municipal accounts require predictable service. Our routes run on the published day, with the same crew handling the same area week after week.

Direct Communication

Town offices reach our team directly — not a call center in another state. Issues, schedule questions, and contract adjustments go through the local office.

Storm-Ready

Coastal NC sees storm activity regularly. Our crews have run debris pickup before, during, and after every major weather event in this region.
