Yes. All of our dumpsters feature an access door at the rear that is as wide as the dumpster and swings all the way around and flush against the side of the dumpster when opened. The container is open along the entire top.
Do you offer residential curbside service?
At this time we do not offer weekly residential services. However, we are happy to help you with your remodeling or cleanup disposal needs.
I have a nice driveway that I don't want damaged or scratched when the dumpster is delivered. What can be done to help prevent any damage?
We cannot guarantee that the dumpster will not leave marks. However: we can recommend that the customer provide two 4×8 sheets of plywood for the driver to place under the dumpster. The boards may be old scrap lumber but should be free of screws and nails. This step will help prevent scratching and dimpling on the driveway. The wood will be left behind at pickup. We also cannot guarantee your driveway will not crack. Our trucks empty can weigh up to 30,000 lbs and full legal weight is 54,000 lbs. If this is a concern of yours please try our 10 yard containers. The truck and container weigh much less. We are not responsible for broken or cracked driveways.
Can the dumpster be placed on my front lawn?
Yes, but the dumpster and truck will leave marks and damage the lawn. There may also be a problem if we have to back over a curb to place the dumpster in position. Some towns forbid doing this, others don’t mind. Please check with your towns building department if you are not sure. We are not responsible for broken or cracked curbs. You should be knowledgeable of the water lines and septic tank locations.
Do you service commercial compactors?
Yes. We service our compactors leased to you as well as customer owned compactors.
What size dumpster can we use for dirt and concrete and how much can we load into the dumpster?
We only use 20-yard dumpsters for dirt or concrete. The loads must be free of any trash and can be loaded no higher than 6 inches below the top edge of the dumpster. Loads mixed with any trash will be subject to additional charges based on weight. Please call for details. Please do not over load these. Any overweight fines will be the responsibility of the customer.
What forms of payment may I use?
Cash, Money Order or Cashiers Check and credit cards. Personal and business checks also accepted with valid I.D.
Where can I place the roll-off container?
Most homeowners have the container placed in their driveway. Please keep in mind that driveways must have a firm foundation or the weight of the truck and loaded container may crack the driveway. Containers may also be placed on the lawn, but the weight of the container and truck will damage the lawn and in some cases leave ruts. Please examine the area you would like the container to be placed to ensure there is enough access keeping in mind that there must be at least 25′ of overhead clearance. Priority Waste is not responsible for damage to driveways, curbs, walkways, overhanging limbs or power lines.
What types of heavy materials can be placed in the roll-off container?
Dirt, bricks, and other compact material may be placed in containers, but only a maximum of 1/3 of the container may be filled due to their weight. Our trucks are permitted to safely haul 10 tons of material. If containers are overfilled it is the customer’s responsibility to unload the material to a safe weight level. Any overweight tickets will be the responsibility of the customer.
What materials can NOT be placed in the roll-off container?
Tires
Batteries
Asbestos
Propane Tanks
Fluorescent tubes
Herbicides/Pesticides
Paint & Thinners (Dry Cans Only)
Liquids / Solvents / Freon or Chemicals
Biohazard materials or Medical Waste
Equipment containing gas or oil including oil rags
White Goods (refrigerators, stoves, etc)
Concrete should be placed in a separate container
Do I need to be on site when the roll-off container is delivered?
It is preferable that the customer be available to sign for the container placement and other terms of delivery. A deposit is also required at the time of delivery by cash, or before hand by credit card or check by phone. If you are unavailable during the delivery of your container please make arrangements to have a delivery slip agreement emailed or faxed to you prior to delivery, as we must have complete paperwork in order to deliver the container. If you cannot be there please mark the spot with paint flags or other objects.
What is required for service?
Be sure to maintain clear and safe access. Also, you will need to ensure there are no vehicles parked in front or on the sides of the container. If containers are not accessible or are overloaded when the driver arrives there is a trip charge to have them return at a later time. The container door must be closed with all trash inside of the container.
If I order roll-off services today online, what are your rates for Temporary Roll-off Service?
Charges for temporary roll-off boxes are based on two factors: transportation costs (haul) and landfill costs (disposal). Temporary jobs ordered online will incur a flat haul charge inclusive of disposal costs up to four tons. Any disposal above four tons will be billed landfill rates on a per ton basis.
How fast will my service be after I call?
We provide same day service if you call in the morning. If you call in the afternoon we will make every effort to service your container but due to landfill hours it may be the next morning.
How much space in needed for a container?
It depends on the size you request. For a 10 yard container we will need approximately 30 feet of space front to back, 10 feet wide and 15 feet of overhead clearance for the truck to safely operate. For 20 yard and larger we will need a minimum of 60 ft front to back, 10 feet wide and 25 feet of overhead clearance.
What is the ``fuel/environmental charge`` shown on my bill?
PWI is committed to controlling costs so we can continue to provide you with the best overall value in waste-related services. However, rising fuel prices and costs related to environmental compliance are things we cannot fully control. Our standard fuel/environmental charge is meant to help us cover these increased costs and achieve an acceptable operating margin.
